I probably should’ve prepared for the end of flash a little sooner than December 28th 2020.  I think download versions of the games still work?  Movies are a different story cuz I deleted the youtube account everything was on… a year ago…. oops…


There is a browser extension called Ruffle that can allow you to view flash embeds as they were.  For this reason I’m hesitating a bit on tearing the site up to become download only.  In theory I can embed it as well so you wouldn’t need the extension, but I couldn’t get that working for now.  https://ruffle.rs/


It is still in active development though, stuff isn’t guaranteed to work.  Hunters stage 6 in particular is behaving oddly right now.

Oh hi.  I made a new game!  Actually this is something I made on commission back in 2012, around the same time as Super Xalaxer, but it wasn’t actually released until 2013.  I never really promoted it though, and even though I had permission to, never actually posted it on my site… until now!


Anyways it’s a Shoot Em Up very similar to Project Inthri 3, but with some of the tricks I learned while making Hunters: Relic of Stars.  I hope you enjoy it!

So last month there was the whole thing with flash being vulnerable and getting temporarily disabled for most people.  I said I was going to work on making the site less flash reliant.  What I didn’t mention at the time was that I was already working on making tumblr posts for every piece of content I’d ever created.  The whole flash debacle added a major new wrinkle to that project, but it was actually pretty good timing.


Anyways, said project is now complete!  Every flash movie I’ve ever made has a youtube version, every game has a downloadable version, and everything ever has a tumblr post, usually with some retrospective commentary like “wow this is crap”.  Anyways!  These are the tags I’ve implemented.

So… flash

So it’s become apparent the last day or so that yes, flash is dying, and it’s probably going to be sooner rather than later.  More vulnerabilities found, firefox and chrome disabling flash by default, and people calling on Adobe to announce an end of life for flash.


As someone who has had a flash website for 15 or so years… this is all a bit terrifying!  Granted, the writing has been on the wall for a long time, but flash just felt like something that would always be around and that you didn’t have to worry about people not having it.


So in order to make the site less flash reliant moving forward, I plan to make youtube and downloadable versions of all my movies, and downloadable versions for all my games.  This is a pretty large undertaking though so it may be a bit til I’m finished, but I’m saying now that I have no intentions of my stuff being lost to time.

Minor Update

After much hemming and hawing I decided to officially start adding non game and movie things that I make to the site, namely the Sockscast Podcast and the LP videos I do once in a while.  While this means they’ll probably take over the front page, ultimately I decided that this is my personal site so it may as well have everything that I make on it.
